Job Title: Assistant Director of Outpatient Services

Location: Corona, NY (on-site)

Salary: $70,000 Annual

Under the supervision of the Director Outpatient Services, you will coordinate all integrated program operations. The Assistant Director will assist in monitoring assigned tasks of counselors and support staff and will also be a primary source of service delivery. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervises counseling and support staff.
  • Oversees the Opioid Treatment Program and works closely with the Medical Director and Multi-disciplinary Team.
  • Assists with scheduling and completing assessment and intake processes arriving at treatment recommendations and level of care decisions that are appropriate to client's level of functioning and medical necessity.
  • Instructs and monitors counseling staff's development of initial and comprehensive individualized treatment plans based on participant's needs, using participant's words, and that have measurable objectives, within established timelines, based on assessment, psychosocial, participant's assessed stage of change, and in consultation with participant and treatment team as appropriate.
  • Monitors counseling staff's timely completion of all treatment plans, progress notes, discharge planning, and referral follow-ups.
  • Ensures counseling staff use evidence based practices to the individual needs of the participants (EBPs include, but are not limited to, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Matrix Model, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Harm Reduction).
  • Provides crisis intervention services as needed.
  • Recognizes, responds to, high risk factors including suicidal and homicidal ideation.
  • Recognizes, responds to, and defuses volatile or dangerous situations as allowable; when in doubt always call for assistance and/or 911.
  • Acts as liaison with networking/referring agencies, e.g.; Courts, Parole, Probation, ACCESS, etc.
  • Supervises operations staff; which are the kitchen, transportation and maintenance staff.
  • Manage requirements relative to health codes and kitchen maintenance and compliance.
  • Supervises proper oversight of the stocking and re-stocking of supplies for program.
  • Supervises the planning menus that are varied and nutritiously sound with the cook, assuring that they are varied and nutritiously sound.
  • Oversight of monthly calendars with diverse activities that encompass all contractual units of service for all centers.
  • Maintains and complies with the standards set by NYC Office of Addiction and Supports (OASAS). Department of Health & Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) including, city, state, federal governing guidelines and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accreditation.
  • Assists the Director with training of volunteers and staff of the department.
  • Management of all deadlines of the assigned duties: submissions of
    • Monthly Reports- (In-Home, Activities, Operations)
    • Monthly Units of Service
    • Fire Drills
    • First Aid, AED, CPR
  • Manages the completions of all unit targets and goals.
  • Onsight oversight recreational, social, educational, and health activities.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
  • Develops alternative solutions with the director.
  • Conducts Quality and Control reviews on a monthly basis.
  • Follows established Federal, State and Elmcor guidelines on confidentiality.
  • Maintains current knowledge base on counseling issues regarding substance abuse and other psychosocial disorders.
  • Will assist with counseling services and maintain a small caseload in the event of staff shortage.
  • In the absence of the Director, the Assistant Director will perform their duties.

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA Degree from an accredited college with a major in counseling, psychology, social work or a human services related discipline and 1 years' experience working with applicable populations who have substance abuse disorders or;
  • Knowledge of MAT programming;
  • Must receive/obtain First Aid, CPR, AED, Medication Observation training;
  • Must have a valid Driver's License;
  • CASAC and 1-2 years' supervisory experience working with applicable populations who have substance abuse /co-occurring disorders or;
  • Must have computer skills.
